Ho Hum...

The Intertropical Convergence Zone, aka the Intertropical Front, Monsoon Trough, Doldums or the Equitorial Convergence Zone is a belt of low pressure girdling the earth at the equator.

The above explanation of the "Doldrums" is stolen directly from Wikipedia. I know. It's Wikipedia. So take it for what it's worth. Anyway, the reason I looked it up in the first place is because I was listening to Dr. James Dobson's "Focus on the Family" on the radio this morning just like I do every day on the way to work. He was talking about marriages that fall into the so called "doldrums" after the honeymoon's over. And he told the story of the origin of our word for...the same old boring crap-ola...or the "doldrums".

Dr. Dobson said crews on ships feared the area known as the doldrums even more than they feared pirates and such, because in that area they could be doomed to drift for long periods of time waiting for a strong enough wind to blow them back on course. In that time, sometimes food and provisions would run out and they would face starvation and death.

What a tragic story. I know. But I have a point, I promise. I've been feeling a little "Ho Hum", bored, have the doldrums syndrome myself lately. So, I guess I need a change to spice up my life, huh? Nothing too drastic you understand. Just something new and exciting. I'll think about it for a while. In the meantime, let me know if you have comments or suggestions. I'd love to hear from others on this.

Have an Awsome Day,

MisFriz
